There’s a lot going on this weekend at Raincity Athletics, here’s a summary/timeline/breakdown of what to expect and how you can be a part of it!
9AM Sat – 9AM Sun
CF24 WOD – 24 WODs in 24 Hours for Special Olympics
We’ve got a handful of teams (15 or so RAthletes) taking part in the 24 hour WODathon fundraiser for the special Olympics. In teams of 3 – 6 athletes will complete 1 WOD every hour, for 24 hours, starting at 9AM on Saturday. Details: http://raincityathletics.ca/cf24/
The regular Saturday morning schedule will be adapted around these WODs. All of the WODs can be found HERE.
These are short (10 minute) WODs that will be performed on the hour. You’re welcome to join us at ANY time for any of these WODs, but to replace the regular Sat AM Classes we will run 1hr classes (with programmed barbell work before the CF24 WOD and ending with the appropriate hours WOD) at 9:15 / 10:15 / 11:15 / 12:15 – register in Zen Planner.
Outside of those times you’re welcome to join us ANY other hour! We could use the support!
Please note: There will be no option to perform anything OTHER than the CF24 WODs. Please do not plan to come lift during breaks in between as athletes participating will need down time / silence / sleep, etc.
Sarah and Jimmy’s Baby Shower
This event will be running alongside the CF24 event! Come celebrate new life and also support those who will be doing WODs on the hour during.
We would like to cordially invite our Raincity RAthletes (boys and girls) to the Celebration Of Baby Dubs. This will be more of a friendly gathering to congratulate one of our favorite couples Jimmy & Sarah Whyte on having a little bundle of love. No cheesy baby shower games. It will be potluck style and BYOB if you so choose to have a celebration drink.
If you would like to pick up something small to help out in the smooth transition to parenthood they do have two gift registries. They received lots of clothing and books to date but not much if the essential baby things most of us childless people would never think of.

Food : Potluck syle – a thread will be started for people to post what they are bringing.
* dishes will be marked with Paleo or Non-Paleo signs as not to confuse our Rathletes who are currently doing a fabulous job with their paleo challenge
9:30 & 11AM SUNDAY
Olympic Lifting & Team WOD
The final CF24 WOD is at 9am Saturday. Athletes who did not just complete 24 workouts may attend Sunday morning classes as usual, coached by Coach Alexi.
We encourage you to come in for 9am to cheer on the athletes as they all complete Fran on the 24th hour.

Advanced Gymnastics Seminar

There is NO Open Gym Sunday Afternoon.
Yoga will be running as usual at 5:30PM on Sunday. Please remember this is the END of the week, not the beginning of the new week (for those on 3x a week) so it’s a great chance to use that last session if you only made it in 2x. Also for the competitors or those who are feeling serious aches and pains we highly recommend regular attendance to the Yoga sessions!
