Jan 10/11 2015 Ice Breaker Challenge

08 December 2014

IceBreaker Challenge

Registration Opens: December 10th at 5:00pm
Cost: $100
Competition Dates: January 10th/11th, 2015
Competition Venue: Crossfit North Vancouver

More info: http://westcoasttriplecrown.com/crossfit-north-vancouver-challenge/

What To Expect:
– The Icebreaker Challenge is part 1 of the “West Coast Triple Crown” a 3-part series that also includes the Crossfit Squamish Fall Challenge (Part II) and the Winter Challenge (Part III).
**It is called a ‘series’ BUT you do not have to do all 3 and signing up for 1 does not mean you are committing to all three.

– This is a two-day event combining Olympic Weightlifting and CrossFit to produce an OVERALL winner for the weekend. All participants must compete in both days of competition.

Who should do it:
– Anyone who can regularly RX workouts in class & is looking to get some competition experience under their belt. Of all three Triple Crown events this is the most “beginner friendly” AND it is a really good way to kickoff the season/”see where you’re at” for people who plan to do the Open.

Coach’s Note: In addition to being a good first competition for Crossfit its also a really good intro to competing in Olympic Weightlifting. Day 1 is run exactly like a weightlifting competition (weigh-in and 3 attempts for a max in both the Snatch and Clean and Jerk) but it is a little more relaxed than an official weightlifting competition – Taryn

If you’re interested in signing up, are unsure if you should or want to know more about the even talk to one of the coaches.

Simon is the Head Coach and Owner of Raincity Athletics. “Discovering a new level of health has changed my life, not only in how I look feel and perform, but how I feel about myself both inside and out. I want to help as many people as I can discover their ‘athlete within’ no matter what level that may be, which is why I love our slogan: Find Your Fit. Our bodies are nicer than any car, house, or pet we’ll ever own, and yet we constantly abuse them like we can buy another one if it breaks. I strongly believe if we can maximize our physical health and performance it will have a positive affect on our lives in more ways than anyone can imagine.”
