One of our RAthletes & Firefighter shared a little extra insight into the BC Burn Fund, and why you should support this incredible organization:

No. 1. if you go to www.burnfund.org my old captain is on the home page. His name is Ray Boucher, and he is salt of the earth. He lives in Mission and commutes everyday to Vancouver to promote and help the burn fund. He also runs “Bright nights” in Stanley park. (xmas train). Seriously he is one of those firefighters that gives and gives. (and he’s been retired for 4 years).
No. 2. I’ve been involved with this organization through a really good friend of mine Brady Tupper. She is a burn survivor and has been the ”face” of the burn fund for many years. The way she talks about this organization, and how they helped her makes me want to reach out and help in any way I can….hence this message.
No. 3. If any of you live on Main street…head up to Main and 23rd. That is where the new burnfund building is taking form. (right next to the legion). Go check it out.
No. 4. Every single firefighter in the province has donated to this fund in some way or another (seriously). Recently my department (along with a couple others) donated $100k to them because we believe in them so much.

If there is one thing that you donate your hard earned money too, or time too this year, please consider this incredible organization. And feel free to ask me any questions about it. I’m happy to share my stories!

Simon is the Head Coach and Owner of Raincity Athletics. “Discovering a new level of health has changed my life, not only in how I look feel and perform, but how I feel about myself both inside and out. I want to help as many people as I can discover their ‘athlete within’ no matter what level that may be, which is why I love our slogan: Find Your Fit. Our bodies are nicer than any car, house, or pet we’ll ever own, and yet we constantly abuse them like we can buy another one if it breaks. I strongly believe if we can maximize our physical health and performance it will have a positive affect on our lives in more ways than anyone can imagine.”
