  • I'm on 3x / week, will this count as a WOD?

    If you completed the judges course: oc.crossfit.com

    and come in an hour before or after your WOD to Judge a fellow RAthlete, then we will not count Saturday as one of your 3 sessions.

    To do this you must still register for the class, but dropin is set to $0 so you can ‘pay’ and drop-in instead of using one of your sessions.

    This will be based on the honor system that you are judging someone. If we find you completing your WOD and NOT judging someone before or after (take someone elses place to judge if necessary) then we will charge you full rate for your dropins.

  • Should I sign up?
  • When can I do it?

    Each week must be completed between 5pm Thursday (when it’s announced) and 5pm Monday of THAT WEEK.

    Saturday Morning:

    • Classes will run every 20 minutes on Saturday morning. Make sure you register! raincityathletics.zenplanner.com
      • The first 30 minutes will be warmup (while the class before you does their WOD) then there will be 10 minutes prep, then go time!
    • Classes will be capped at 7 people to ensure lots of room to complete the WODs
    • PLEASE hang around after or come early to judge a fellow RAthlete as well as chear them on / support them!
    • Remember, you do NOT have to be registered for the open to take part in these classes (but you might as well)

    Friday Evening:

    For those that would like to do the Open but cannot make it in Saturday morning, we will run 1 heat on Friday at 5:30PM as well – but we encourage you to hit it Saturday morning with the whole crew when possible.

    During Open Gym:

    Plan on brining a ‘judge’ to open gym and a Coach will be there to walk you through it. DO NOT assume the coach at open gym will be available to judge you. Confirm with them (via email or FB) but we would much prefer if you brought your own judge whenever possible.

    If you absolutely cannot make it during the slated heats, or during open gym, then you may e-mail info@raincityathletics.ca to inquire if a coach will be available to judge you at another time – please follow standard appointment protocol and make this request at least 48 hours in advance. Even then please do your best to bring your own judge.

  • What if I won't be in town every week?

    You can complete these WODs at ANY affiliate! It’s a great way to make new friends 🙂 just e-mail them in advance and confirm they’ll host you!

    OR if you 100% are unable to find an affiliate, you may film your workout and submit it that way

    OR if that’s not going to happen, submit a score of 1 for whatever week you are unable to complete.

  • What if I can't complete the WODs as RX?

    There will be a scaled version available every week as well 🙂

    Example, 15.1 (week 1)

    Toe to bar = Hanging knee raises
    115lb Deadlift = 85lb (men)
    115lb Snatch = 85lb

    Max CJ = as light as you need it to be 🙂

  • How do I submit my score?

    login to your account at games.crossfit.com – or download the CrossFit Games app from the app store (apple only).

    Coach Thor will then confirm that the score you submitted is the same as what is on your scoresheet (and/or whiteboard) and then it will show up on the leaderboards.
