CF24 Final Countdown & Day of Information

IT’S ALMOST GO TIME!

First up a HUGE congrats to EVERYONE as of now here are a couple of our epic totals:

5th place Gym: RAINCITY ATHLETICS: $7,072 raised! 
1st place Team: #ALLOFTHEWODS: $3,639 raised! 

UNREAL! Let’s keep that going!!!

Day of considerations for participants:

  • CLOTHING
    • You’re going to be sweaty for 24 hours, you’re welcome to showed between WODs – but for sure bring a spare set of ‘non wod’ (but comfortable) clothes to sleep/nap/lay face down in!
    • Lots of spare WOD clothes as well! Unless you like wearing sweaty spandex, sports bras, etc.
    • Bring your own towel to shower!
  • SLEEPING
    • We’ll takeover and setup all kinds of beds next door
    • Foamy’s, air mattresses, or anything of the sort – bring it! And be prepared to share 🙂
    • Bring a sleeping bag or blanket & pillow
  • FOOD
    • Barons of beef will be there from 5-8 during the Paleo Potluck and have agreed to feed the participants with pulled pork (will be available for purchase for the others)
    • Fitness Foods will be providing some protein oatmeal for snacking as well
    • Hopefully our fellow RAthletes will bring all kinds of Paleo goodies that we can snack on throughout the night… but don’t rely on it!
    • Bring a lot of ‘snack’ foods & a water bottle!
    • Starbucks will be keeping us caffeinated through the whole event as well!
    • IF YOU KNOW ANYONE ELSE / COMPANIES THAT MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN SPONSORING / PROVIDING FOOD / GETTING INVOLVED PLEASE HAVE THEM REACH OUT TO ME ASAP. This is a great chance for some wicked publicity for them!  thor @ raincityathletics.ca 
  • WORKING OUT
    • You can checkout the full schedule and list of wods HERE
    • Remember, this is how it is ‘technically’ supposed to work:
      • ~6 athletes per team, 3 athletes complete each workout (they’re all team WODs)
      • This means you don’t have to do every WOD! Skipping 1 workout = 2 hours to sleep. If you don’t skip any you will never get more than a 45min nap.
      • Plan with your team and decide on a ‘break’ time for each athlete
      • You do NOT have to do every WOD (unless you’re on team #allofthewods and have committed to it) so DON’T KILL YOURSELF TRYING. The goal is to raise money for Special Olympics, which we’ve done an amazing job of – remember that 🙂
  • SOCIAL
    • Invite anyone and everyone to come by! We learned last year that once everyone leaves it’s a lot less ‘fun’ and a lot more of a grind
      • WODs, Pilates, Paleo Potluck, Movie Night – invite anyone!
    • The full schedule of workouts and events is HERE
      • send it to your friends and encourage them to signup for an appropriate WOD and come join us!
    • We’ll be filming a time lapse of the whole event, but obviously spam your social media feeds with #racf24 (our own) and #cf24
      • This is a great way to connect and communicate with the other gyms going through it as well 🙂
  • ORGANIZATION & CLEANLINESS 
    • We will have tables set up in the ‘lounge’ at the gym, please try to keep your belongings in the back hall (will be cleared out) OR next door in the open room/space
    • Make sure you cleanup any / all food from the ground – we don’t want to invite any additional guests
  • OTHER
    • We’ve got TVs all over the place here, if you’ve got movies or TV or anything you’d like to put on in the background (outside of movie night) we’ve got chromecast as well as apple TVs hooked up, or we can HDMI you directly to it
    • MUSIC: Make a playlist, bring a playlist, anything that will hook up to an aux (headphone jack) will be able to provide music
